HISTORY

The idea of forming the new club came from Yvonne one evening while sitting around our kitchen table having a few beers with some biking friends back in 2000.

It was realised that all the existing clubs were country based, but many of us 'old' guys spent many happy miles travelling in and around many European countries.

Why not have a club European based with a limited number (max 50) of old friends based all over Europe that can meet up on their travels.

This is what started it all, the idea was discussed with several of our biking friends who agreed it was a great idea and wanted to be part of an elite European group of 'old' buddies.

Once the club reach 25 members we applied to joint the Federation in 2002 and the rest is history.

Many members still retain membership of their home country clubs and some do not, it is entirely up to individuals what club affiliations they wish to have.

H-DC50 has few rules but is limited to a maximum of 50 members who must be 50 years old and ride Harley Davidson motorcycles.
We have members who live all over Europe from as far apart as Finland to Greece and many places in between.

The Bornerbroek party is our annual main meeting rendezvous.

I personally bought my first Harley back in 1991, an FXSTS Softail Springer and covered some 36,000 miles in the first 6 years before replacing the Springer for a Road King.
I joined up with Caledonia Harley Club and have been a member since then.
